1. There’s no need for a high-spec, costly machine room at the top of the hoistway — plus, the installation height can extend all the way up to the roof level.
2. Flexible machine room positioning: Thanks to the hydraulic drive system’s oil-pipe power transmission, the machine room can be installed right next to the hoistway, taking up just 2–3 square meters of space.
3. High hoistway space utilization: Hydraulic elevators do away with the need for counterweights, which notably increases the hoistway’s usable area.
4. Minimal hoistway structure demands: Vertical loads (such as the elevator car’s dead weight and rated load) are transferred directly to the hoistway’s ground via hydraulic cylinders — this drastically lowers the structural performance requirements for the hoistway’s walls and top.
5. Fail-safe design & self-rescue function: Hydraulic elevators prevent issues like overspeed, uncontrolled operation, as well as roof collision or bottom drop accidents. Thanks to their well-engineered mechanical structure and reliable installation, they have a high safety rating. Plus, with built-in backup batteries, if there’s a power outage or elevator malfunction, passengers can press the bottom emergency button to activate the oil discharge valve circuit. The hydraulic oil will then flow back to the tank slowly, and the elevator car will descend gently under its own weight to achieve self-rescue.
